WHAT IT MEANS FOR US:

RESPONSIBILITY Be clear on what we do and openly answer any question about such an important matter.

SOCIAL To have a positive impact on society:
3% of Aerth Turnover is given every year to social associations who really make things happen.

ENVIRONMENTAL To be éco-responsible by moving towards “zero-carbon”. We completely offset our carbon footprint from the first year of existence!

FOR AERTH, BEING AN ECO-RESPONSIBLE SPORTSWEAR BRAND TODAY IS JUST THE STANDARD !

SHARE AND RESPOND FOR WHAT WE DO.

TO HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON SOCIETY.

Since the launch of the Aerth brand, we have decided to devote a significant part of the turnover to associative projects that are close to our hearts.

Since the launch of the Aerth brand, we have decided to devote a significant part of the turnover to associative projects that are close to our hearts.

NOT JUT A SHARE OF THE PROFIT.

No, a significant part of the turnover, that is to say the proceeds of our sales. Because that is a figure that our customers have direct control over!

This share of turnover, we have set it at 3% and it will never change. It's quite simple to understand: if we decide to help associations, it's for the long term and we certainly don't intend to let them go! At Aerth, we believe in strong, local commitments.

As we are two founders and we each have our concerns about what should be done to save the planet, the envelope was simply distributed between us equally.

Each year, we will continue to support SNC and Emmaüs-solidarité and as soon as the budget increases, we will also benefit other associations whose actions we also appreciate.

AERTH AND ECO-RESPONSIBILITY

IT IS URGENT THAT THIS BECOMES SO IF WE COLLECTIVELY WANT THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY TO FOLLOW THE TRAJECTORY SET BY THE 2015 PARIS AGREEMENTS.

THE PART OF THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY IN GLOBAL WARMING AND GLOBAL POLLUTION IS HUGE :

ACCORDING TO QUANTIS In 2016, the textile industry accounted for 6.7% of total greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Mainly CO2 emitted at the beginning of the chain, during dyeing and preparation of fibers and yarns.

ACCORDING TO OXFAM According to Oxfam, the textile industry is the third most water-consuming sector in the world. An overconsumption of water that affects the entire life cycle of our clothes, from growing cotton to our laundry.

OVERCONSUMPTION OF ENERGY Even recycled, the fibers pass through many (and large) energy-consuming machines. Considering the energy mix of production areas (coal plants, nuclear, renewable energies) is therefore one of the keys to improving the situation.

une grenouille préservée

AT AERTH, WE ARE CONVINCED THAT IMPROVING THE SITUATION REQUIRES ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING FRONTS :

1. REDUCE ENTRANCE EMISSIONS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

By using the least GHG-emitting materials, including recycled polyesters and natural fibers, packaging included. Much less wasted water, and no pesticides (see the GOTS label).

2. SHORTEN THE DISTANCE

With the production sites, manufacturing exclusively in Europe (materials and manufacturing). Thus, we avoid the plane and we travel less by truck.

3. FULLY COMPENSATE.

The remaining GHG emissions that could not be avoided throughout the product's life cycle.

TO DO THIS, WE MUST BE ABLE TO MEASURE THE IMPACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE OF OUR ACTIVITY, ON THE ENTIRE LIFE CYCLE OF OUR PRODUCTS, INCLUDING USE AND END OF LIFE.

OUR FIRST COLLECTION INCORPORATES :

16% of models containing 97% GOTS-certified cotton, 8% of models in 100% recycled polyester and 16% of models containing 11% Lyocell (material of natural origin that is naturally recyclable)

100% recyclables

THE PLASTIC PROTECTION OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE 100% RECYCLABLE AND THE PAPERS USED IN OUR PACKAGING ARE RECYCLED.

CONCRETELY, FROM DAY ONE, AERTH HAS BEEN ON A "ZERO CARBON" TRAJECTORY :

Thanks to ADEME databases and with the help of textile energy balance experts, we calculate the overall impact of our productions each year.

FOR THE MOMENT, WE HAVE YET FOUND NOTHING BETTER THAN TREES TO CAPTURE AND STORE CO2:

IN COLLABORATION WITH OUR PARTNER STOCK CO2, WE INVEST EACH YEAR IN SEVERAL REFORESTATION PROJECTS IN FRANCE. THESE PROJECTS WILL CAPTURE ALL THE CO2 EMITTED BY AERTH PRODUCTS THROUGHOUT THEIR ENTIRE LIFE CYCLE (YES, INCLUDING YOUR DETERGENTS!).

logo stock co2

THESE PROJECTS HAVE THE LOW CARBON LABEL :

THEY WILL REACH THEIR MATURITY IN 2026, WHEN THE CARBON CREDITS WILL BE ISSUED BY THE LABEL. IT'S NOT IMMEDIATE, EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THAT THE TREES NEED TO BE GIVEN TIME TO GROW!

Once again, the offsetting of our carbon emissions extends over the entire life cycle of our products. Thus, it includes the use of products by our athletes (detergents) and putting them in the trash (on average, 80% of clothes are landfilled and only 20% in a recycling circuit, see Oxfam).

WE CONTINUE OUR LONG-TERM EFFORTS

Carbon offsetting until the end of the life cycle is fine, but we would prefer to ensure that our products are actually recycled when they can be.

Thus, since 2021 AERTH is a partner of REFASHION for a circular textile economy.

We plan to integrate even moreRECYCLED FABRICS and NATURALLY DERIVED, ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FIBERS.

With the help of experts and the cooperation of our industrial partners, we willALWAYS REFINING OUR CALCULATIONSin order to better understand the ecological impact of each product in the collection and to indicate the results on our item sheets as soon as possible.

We are all, collectively, responsible for our most precious asset: our planet. Your ideas interest us:
